I had an amazing trip and felt very well looked after throughout and appreciated all your emails checking up on me, even at a time when you were going through such personal challenges. I am singing Lateral Life’s praises to everyone and I hope that I have an opportunity in the future to ask you both to help me plan another trip of a lifetime.
We have just gotten settled back in New York after a tremendous trip to Mozambique. Suffice to say, every single detail was beautifully attended from shower taps all the way to private charters, often, it seemed, while we watched much fancier, tanner, better coiffed, Patek-Phillipe-clad-Euro-types gawk at our villas, seamless logistics and private candle-lit meals.
Mexico was amazing. The variety of foods, handicrafts, people and topography was wonderful while the ancient ruins at Teotihuacan, Monte Alban and Uxmal were just breathtaking.
When it came to planning a special holiday in honour of my 40th birthday we went straight to Nick and his team for help. Nick helped us plan our amazing year-long sabbatical in 2011 so I trusted him to come up with another memorable and off-the-beaten track trip.
Faced with the opportunity of having a family holiday of a lifetime, some initial thoughts of where we might go but with little time/no real idea about how to go about planning it, I fortuitously came across a flyer from Lateral Life and arranged to meet Nick.
Lateral Life organised a two month sabbatical in the summer of 2013 for my wife, my children (aged 13, 11, 9 and 5) and me. We travelled to Indonesia, Australia, Ecuador and the US.
The trip was indeed fantastic. There was plenty in there to keep both the adults and kids amused, just as we had wanted. We loved all the places we visited, and we could not have found the unique venues we stayed in without the guidance you guys gave us. The arrangements went like clockwork – the people you use on the ground did you proud. As I said to Steve, I shall be singing the praises of Lateral Life on the corridors of Silk Street!
Rather belatedly, thanks for arranging a truly fabulous trip. Everything was perfect and it really was the holiday/sabbatical of a lifetime – as you predicted. We had so many adventures and have so many stories – we must bore you with them sometime! All the best and thanks again,
We are back today – the glow of Indonesian and African sun still warm on our backs. We are zombies today wandering in that land between yesterday’s glorious realism and tomorrow’s reality – I may never resume consciousness. Thank you for all your efforts on our behalf, we have had a wonderful trip and we look forward to the full debrief.
The trip was truly the most amazing holiday we have ever had. Just the right amount of touring and relaxing. We didn’t mind moving around because there was so much to see.
Thank you Steve – I have been meaning to e-mail you (sorry, have had a busy start to 2013!). The trip, without question, lived up to everything that I had hoped for and more. We had a wonderful time and were well looked after at every stay.
